There is no doubt Jason is the speed demon - literally - of the group. From the moment he met the others (being chased by an enraged Gorgon), to his most recent adventure, he's been running non-stop. Of all the main characters, his connection is seemingly the most coincidental, but things are not as they might seem. He's got a genuine kind streak in him, although he has little respect for authority.

Jason first met the others in the middle of one of their adventures, attempting to locate the Five Eyes, and friendship immediately set in. Before meeting the others, Jason survived the streets the best he could, ever since waking up in a boatyard one morning with no recollection of his past. As a street rat (also literally, as his Eldarin form is that of a shadow-type were-rat) Jason got by on his legs and his wits, which weren't too shabby. Adventures excited him, and when he met the others, he like the type of lives they lived with Sensei Mojo, so he stayed on.

Jason helped them find the Eyes, especially swimming down in the deeps to recover the sunken Eye of the Tortoise. He often teamed up with Leon, sometimes more of necessity than choice. He helped the others fight Kuraikamikage when he appeared, dealing with both the devil and the ferocious Eldarin-Hunter who pursued him. He also was essential helping seal shut the gate to hell opened by the Celestial Eye.

When the others went to America, he tagged along for the fun of it, and really stated to come into his own. He befriended the young Mizummi, who helped them when they were captured by Dr. Nero while trying to rescue Asami. Jason worked alongside Kuro and Mizuumi more than once, as well as facing the deadly Shira Blaez.

It was not until the group returned to Japan things became personal. One of Sensei Mojo's students, June, was in Japan visiting her "Aunt Marie" - none other than the Eldarin Hunter who had both aided and attacked him before. June recognized him as her long-lost cousin, Jason Fierre.

The Hunter was none other than his own mother! He and June became close quickly, as emotions, if not memory returned to Jason.

The old man of the Mountain told Jason, after some whackings and lectures on respect, that he should keep an eye on those he loved. Soon after, both Jun and his mother were attacked - though at different times and for different reasons. After the attacks, Jason acquired his fourth form - that of a rat-demon of the darkness. However, his intentions do not seem to reflect his outward form.
