The only daughter of King Wilhelm and Queen Taimine, Ariellis a kind, easy-going girl who is more than meets the eye. At first she appears to be the storybook princess, caring and gentile. Anyone who knows the Princess, however knows behind the flowers and smiles lies a will of steel mixed with a heart of gold. Being raised in the castle, and having a naturally honest nature Airi is still naive about some things. She is smart enough, however to figure out if she is in danger, and brave enough to hold a glaive in defense of her fellow Fanardians.

Airi’s most powerful ally, however is not any conventional weapon: it is magic. She is a powerful Sorcereress, and a very powerful healer. With the power of the laylines, Airi is able to heal the most serious of wounds, being even able to resurrect the slain. Her vast power is a heavy responsibility and she takes it very seriously. She is constantly trying to improve on her magical skills and when she is not training herself she is helping her fellow Fanardians with her powers or teaching the young ones how to use magic or rune stones themselves.

Airi has two brothers, whom she holds equally to none in her heart. The first is her older brother, Prince Adon. Adon disappeared in the attack on Fanardis Castle five years ago, and since Airi has not given up hope looking for him. Her other brother is Rhys - the illegitimate son of Queen Taimine. Although she has never been told that he is her sibling, the two have always been close, and Airi has always suspected that there was some connection between them. Yet for fear of hurting others, she has always kept her opinions to herself.

Princess Airi has sworn to rebuild her kingdom and tries her hardest to keep her people’s spirits high. She is often referred to as the "Soul of the Kingdom" though not to her face. The girl truly has pure heart- she is willing to understand the reasoning behind and see the good in even those who have hurt her. This is not to say she does not anger; Airi has a formidable temper when pushed to her limits - but she always pushes herself to be willing to forgive.

It was Airi who first brought the girls from Tokyo to Fanardis - she was trying to summon help for her people, but the spell didn’t work. She had thought she had failed, but perhaps her prayer to Hikami simply was granted with results different than she expected! When Airi returned to camp to find the strangers there, she welcomed them with a warm heart and taught them some magic as well as basic summoning.

After the strangers returned from a fateful trip to Fanardis Castle she showed them her power by resurrecting her dead brother. Afterward, she accompanied the group to the Caves where an unexpected meeting with Falz. After Ryuuko, Misao and Midori were sent back to Tokyo - with Leonith and Rhys in tow - she was prepared to fight Falz and the Cave Wraiths to save her friends. However, they were surprised when Falz backed down, and simply left the caves.

With Rhys and Leonith gone, things became more difficult back at the camp. Airi worked hard trying to discover what had happened back in the Cave. Finally, she snuck off one night and returned to the Caves alone. Using the Gate magic she had finally discovered she could use, she tried to bring them back - and found herself in Tokyo.

Airi searched for her brother, not knowing he and the others had been returned to Fanardis! While in Tokyo, she overheard an argument among three people in a back room of a bar she had wondered into (while dressed as someone these Tokyoites referred to as "Aeris"). There she saw a boy being held by a man with long white hair as another man called "Hassai" talked to him. Or rather, he forced the boy to do the talking. Airi wasn’t sure what had happened, but she knew something was wrong, and something told her that it was important the man not get the information. She broke into the meeting, and rescued the boy.

Together they broke free from the two men. They later fought Seperoth - the white-haired man - for their freedom (destroying a block or two of Tokyo in the process). Afterward, Airi returned with Shion to Fanardis. Except somehow the spell went wrong again, and they landed in the Mountain Palace in time for Airi to meet her elder brother again - in the form of a crazed Erydine!

Piecing things Together from what she knew and what she had learned from Shion, Airi realized the transformation was due to Hassai’s interference. She tried to heal her brother, but found it was beyond her power. He took her hostage and escaped from King Cyrrus. He was incinerated by a spell by Sora Ciel, but not before Airi learned from him he did not wish to be healed. This hurt more than any threat toward Airi. At first Airi focused her anger on Sora - an action she later felt poorly about - but then decided to focus her anger on another - Hassai.

After an attempt to kill the Emperor of Aeccorida, it was discovered Hassai had been manipulating longer and in a larger way than originally suspected. The group went back to Tokyo to face him, but first had a final showdown with Seperoth. After that, Airi and Midori were kidnaped by Cara and Shuuske, and brought to Hassai.

Hassai revealed to Airi his plan to destroy the world and then use her power to call Hikami and remake it in his own image. However, his plan was foiled when Misao’s old friend and Hassai’s henchwoman Naiyami turned on him and first freed Airi and then allowed the others to escape. Yet even this came too late. Hassai called on the power of Shinjimu and sought to use the dark God to end things once and for all.

In the final battle Airi used the Artifact the Devil’s Honor to control the laylines on

Earth which had re-awakened and threatened the planet itself. In the final moments of the battle, Hassai unleashed a final attack meant to destroy himself and the world with it. Airi was not ready to give up yet. Sacrificing her own life, she poured all her power into Sealing the laylines of the world - and Hassai as well. Yet in those final moments, something else unexpected happened. Hikami himself intervened.

Using the Rune Stone Taimine had given Airi and Airi had given her, Midori had called the God. In response to their wishes, Earth was healed, and Airi was saved from her fate. The lines of power were sealed between Arcan and Earth, and Airi returned home - along with the girls from Tokyo and Sora.

After rebuilding her kingdom, Airi married Arion and they ruled Fanardis and Arcadia - as it was renamed on Misao’s suggestion - Together, insuring peace between the two lands.
