Born in the presence of the companions, Boko is a small pink chocobo who is more than he seems. At first, he seemed only to have a penchant for pooping on people’s heads, but later it was discovered he also had other talents. He hates being ignored, and especially hates being kept away from Ryuu (as was discovered in Ryuu’s apartment). For the most part, he acts as the group’s mascot, generally perched on or near Ryuu. However, when things get tough, he is not afraid of rushing in, beak and feathers flying as a "small pink ball of death". He also has at least some magical ability, although the exact extent of which still remains unknown.

After the campaign, he continued to stay with Rhys and Ryuu - a pairing he seems particularly pleased with.
