Claire took up the role of priestess at the age of fourteen, when she learned in a dream she was a chosen of Hikami. She took to the keeping of Lacoan Temple in the mountain border of Laconia and Fanardis at the age of twenty. As a girl, she shared the love and friendship of a Arashi. As a woman she found herself attracted to other women, but still remained devoted to the service of her god.

When Laconia was attacked, Claire agreed to hide the young prince and his companions. Soon after their arrival, four young women arrived. They had come through the old Mirror Gate, which no one had used in a thousand years! Suspicious that they might be working for Aeccorida or some darker force, Claire agreed to Andrews suggestion that the four be captured for questioning. But before capturing Misao, Claire decided she might have a little fun. . .or at least see if Misao was interested.

Misao was not. Although Claire was able to capture her, the attempts to detain her companions were less successful. At the end of the mess - and a mess it turned out to be! - Claire used her powers as a Priestess to resurrect her old friend as well as send the girls and the refugees from Laconia through the Mirror Gate and on to Fanardis. After she returned to her guardianship duties and her duties as a priestess, which she still continues.
