Loyal and Honorable to the core, Mikal is a steadfast follower of the Emperor’s will. Mikal was born into knighthood, as the heir of one of the warrior-clans of Aeccorida. When Arion came into power, Mikal liked the way the boy handled things, and the promise he showed for uniting their country. Even after the boy fell sick and changed, Mikal remained loyal to him, although he had growing misgivings about his Emperor’s changing personality. He also disliked his growing dependance on the Sorceress Rii.
During the war, Mikal was occasionally sent to the front lines or to taken fortresses to make sure things were still running smoothly. During one of these assignments, he was attacked by three young women. To the veteran warrior, they were obviously new to the realm of combat, but they fought with spirit. They took down two of Mikal’s lieutenants before he subdued them. When Rii returned to question them, he turned them over and returned to the Palace at the Emperor’s summons.
In the following months, Mikal questioned his Emperor’s orders more and more although he would not disobey. Only once did he speak out, when the Emperor ordered the imprisonment of Falz, his older brother. Mikal knew Falz was one of the few who still held on to the motives they had had at the beginning of the war. He even contemplated releasing the Sorcerer, but Aeccorida’s newly-found Sorceress Naiyami escaped with him first.
Mikal began to think more and more about the girls he had met that one time and Fanardis castle. Little did he know that he was soon to meet with them in battle as they came on a mission to kill his master! In the battle, Arion was taken prisoner, and so Mikal surrendered. He and the Emperor were both taken to King Cyrrus, where the Mountain King’s healers and Princess Ariellis of Fanardis went to work trying to heal the damage done to the Emperor. While Arion recovered, Mikal stayed in the Mountains with Cyrrus.
After Hassai’s defeat, Arion returned to his old self. He did his best to repair the damage he had done as Emperor, and Mikal stayed by his side. He stays by his side still, working as Knight Captain of Arcadia, ruled by King Arion and Queen Ariellis.
