Naiyami never thought when she got a summer job at Hassai Corp that it would change her life forever. The daughter of Tetsu and Ellis Hayajime, Naiyami always had interests in the sciences. She also felt a strong connection to mysticism. As a part of her interest, she took up Kendo and Martial arts, trying to understand herself. During this time she became friends with Misao Sakakibara, another member of the prominent circle to which her father belonged. The two girls trained with one another, being friends and sometimes rivals.
Naiyami was always convinced that there was something more. One day, while working at her apprenticeship at Hassai, she was surprised to be spoken to by the president himself! Hassai explained that he had known Naiyami’s mother, and that he was very pleased to have her daughter in his employ. He told her that he, too, believed that there was "something more" to their world. He asked her to spy on her friend Misao, who was helping a rival Dr. Cid on a project.
Naiyami knew Immediately that Hassai was up to no good, but she went along with him anyway to see for herself what Misao had experienced. She also wanted to know what this Dr. Cid could do. She went with Misao and heard her stories of Fanardis, and Immediately became enthralled. She also felt an immediate connection to Rhys. He, too, felt a connection and later told her that she reminded him of his little sister.
With her help, the Gate Dr. Cid had been working on was completed. Unfortunately, before they could open it, Seperoth attacked. Naiyami fought against him, and in one desperate moment, sacrificed herself taking Seperoth’s blow that would have killed Rhys, so he could return to his little sister he so loved. . . .
Yet she didn’t die. Instead, Naiyami awakened to find that she had been transported to the world Misao had visited. Only instead of Fanardis, she had been taken to Aeccorida! She was healed by a man named Falz, who explained to her the plight of his own kingdom. Seeing things from a different view, she agreed to help the Aeccordians, even if it meant having to face Misao as an enemy. She was surprised to learn she, like Falz, was a Sorceress, and agreed to have her abilities Awakened.
Soon after, she did face Misao in combat. Knowing his true intentions, she saved Falz from Misao’s attack and helped him to escape. Her efforts seemed in vain, however, as Falz’ Emperor - his own brother - imprisoned him. During the time in the dungeon, Falz explained how his brother was slowly going mad after he had been healed by Hassai. Naiyami realized that Hassai had been manipulating people there, as well. While Falz was in the dungeon, Naiyami realized what Hassai had been planning all along: by destroying the seals on the points that lay parallel on their worlds, he sought to awaken the force of magic on earth. To stop him, Naiyami knew they needed the artifact the Devil’s Honor. She knew, however, she could not stop Hassai alone. She could try to find and reason with Misao, she knew, but it would take too long. Instead, she took Falz with her and went to Earth, determined to stop Hassai.
On Earth, she sent Falz to gain the Devil’s Honor, while she returned to Hassai. She reported to him, pretending to be fully his subordinate. However, in reality her actions were only to get close enough to ascertain what the final piece of the puzzle was, and how she could stop it. The final piece turned out to be the Sorceress Airi, a Seal whose power Hassai sought to channel through the Devil’s Honor to fully awaken and harness the power of the laylines that slept on Earth. Naiyami foiled this plot by first setting free Airi. Then she intended to keep Misao and Falz away from him long enough for his spells to be disrupted when he tried to channel through Airi to work the devil’s honor. Doing this meant fighting Misao in earnest, as well as facing the wrath of Hassai. Naiyami did both without fear, finally giving her own life to allow Misao, Rhys, Airi, and the others to escape so that Hassai could be destroyed.
When Earth was resurrected, Naiyami was returned to life along with the others. She chose to stay behind on Earth to look after the laylines which had become sealed once again. Although her powers on Earth were diminished, she still retained enough strength to keep Tokyo and the laylines safe from those who would become a second Hassai.
