Rii is a sorceress born to one of the old noble houses of Aeccorida. As such, she was one of the nobles who decided to proclaim Arion ruler. She knew that many of the nobles had agreed to let Arion act as ruler because he was young and easily persuaded, but Rii saw in him the potential to bring real power both to Aeccorida as a unified whole, but also the potential for the expansion of its borders. When Arion fell ill, Rii was one of people who argued for the strange healer known as Hassai to take care of the boy. She sensed in Hassai a strange magic, and was curious. While on Arcan, Hassai stayed close to Rii, learning what she would teach him of magic, which he was fascinated by. In turn, he explained to her the keys to keeping Arion firmly under her control - a control established by his mind-magic, which he revealed the young Arion also possessed (although it was not actually magic at all, but a different talent altogether).
With her new knowledge, Rii was able to slowly shape the young Emperor to her will. As a result, the image of Aeccorida also was reshaped. She allowed the premise of uniting the continent to bring about peace stay alive among Falz and his followers, while allowing other nobles to think of the new lands they would acquire. All the while, she pledged her own services to the young Emperor, obeying his commands and helping with the war effort.
The first of the lands to fall to Aeccorida was its neighbor Fanardis. In the attack on Fanardis castle - the first major attack of the war - Rii encountered the young heir Airi and her handsome young guardian, Rhys. Immediately, Rii was smitten by the boy, and decided that he was going to become his. However, her plan was thwarted with the arrival of Valmus. She killed Valmus for his interference, but the damage was done. He had gotten away. . . .
Her next encounter with Rhys was years later, when he was captured along with some strange newcomers. Using her powers, which she had refined under Hassai’s tutorage, she made Rhys defend her against his own new (and old!) friends. Things would have gone according to Rii’s plan, if not for the interference of Taminie and the unexpected tactics of Rhys’ companions. Rii ended up losing her head as penalty for her crimes.
Lucky for Rii (and unlucky for everyone else) Falz was a skilled Necromancer. He was able to restore Rii to life, and she continued to "serve" the Emperor and her own desires. She, Ryuu, and Rhys encountered each other again during the excavation of the mech, long enough for her to cast an annoying spell or two and then escape. The three met for the third and final time in the Imperial Palace, when Rii was attempting to regain her slipping control over the young Emperor. However, this time Ryuu was ready for Rii’s magic, and after being silenced the sorceress found herself defenseless against two very ready - and very happy - opponents. This time, they made sure that Rii would not be able to be healed by any Necromancer.
