Cara and Shuuske: two friends of Dr. Hassai and scientists in their own right, both with a fetish for cos-play. Cara’s nature takes after Qusists, and Shuuske prefers Irvine. In their research, Cara does the scientific work, while Shuuske provides the extra manpower, and occasionally uses his womanizing skills to get extra information from the competition.

While working on an independent project, Cara and Shuuske managed to stumble on some of the same theories as Dr. Cid. When she heard rumors about his intention to build a Gate to the other world she had been doing so much research on, she wasted no time in making contact. She and her partner, Shuuske, set up a meeting with Shion.

Unfortunately for them, Hassai also managed to get wind of the meeting. He allowed it to happen for a single reason: he needed information from the two parties. Once he had what he needed, he sent Seperoth to stop the project and to take care of all involved. When a turn of events caused Seperoth to fail, Hassai instead decided to use Cara and Shuuske. Healing them, he made them both offers they couldn’t refuse. They decided to work for him, first luring Shion into a trap, and later kidnaping Midori and Airi. Unfortunately for them, their one-time friends were less than happy about the betrayal, and they met an appropriate fate.
