Second Queen of Fanardis, Taimine grew up in the Mountains, under Cyrrus’ care. She was a handmaiden of the twins Lanaris and Lanaris, both of whom were Cyrrus’ nieces. Lanaris fell in love with the young king of Fanardis, and when Wilhelm had the courage to come to the mountains and ask Cyrrus for her hand himself, Cyrrus agreed. He sent Taimine to keep Lanaris company, and to keep a connection with him in the mountains. (Later, Lanaris would be married to the king of Laconia).

During the time as a handmaiden, Taimine became very fond of Sir Valmus, foremost of King Wilhelm’s knights. Their courtship grew and Valmus prepared to journey to the Mountains to ask Cyrrus for permission to marry her. Neither knew that after Lanaris’ death, Wilhelm would turn his sights of Taimine. His sights turned to her, however, only after she had conceived a son.

The birth of Rhys after her wedding to Wilhelm would be a murderous scandal. Wilhelm ordered that the boy be raised by the servants, and that no one was to know he was the son of Taimine or Valmus. To the public, it would be said the boy had been still-born. Queen Taimine submitted to Wilhelm will, not wanting the civil war she knew would take place if Wilhelm and Valmus took open hostility toward one another. Thus she watched over Rhys, knowing him to be her son, and never being able to openly be his mother.

In the following years, Taimine gave Wilhelm a daughter, Airi, and acted as mother to Lanaris’ son, Aden. Kind and gentile, this queen was loved by her people and by her children. However, Wilhelm soon began to grow tired of her. When she spoke to him against his unjust policies, he took his anger out on her. She never complained, but she was sad. Finally in seeing her sadness, Valmus had enough. Something had to be done.

That something was murder. However, before it could be implemented, Fanardis was attacked in total surprise by Aeccorida. In the battle, she came to stand by the side of her lover one last time, before she was killed by Aeccordian soldiers. Valmus swore revenge for her, but she pleaded with him to go to Airi and Rhys instead.

After her death, Queen Taimine’s ghost was rumored to be seen by some of the Aeccordians who occupied the castle after its fall. Although unlike most phantoms, she did not cause problems for them. Instead, she would sometimes be seen sitting at a window, or walking through the garden, as though waiting.

When Rhys and the girls from Tokyo were captured and brought to Fanardis Castle, Queen Taimine appeared. She saved Misao, giving her the last of her strength and pleading with her to save Rhys from Rii. Misao did as she asked, although things did not go quite as smoothly as either woman hoped. . . .

After the war with Aeccorida, on the wedding night of King Arion and Queen Airi, palace servants thought that the saw the ghost of their Queen with a black-haired knight, smiling.
